Age 100, of Melrose Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020, one week before her 101st birthday, in her home. Evelyn is survived by her loving family, children, Richard Sheridan, Charles (Laura) Sheridan, Ann Marie Sheridan, and Genevieve (Thomas) Wermers, grandchildren, Monette Lyons, Laura Sheridan, Jaquelyne (Brett) Dodson, Christine (Travis) Sheridan-Hull, Richard Sheridan Jr, John (Cindy) Sheridan, Charles Joseph Sheridan, Casey Sheridan, Jack (Bridget) Penix, Vincent Hardy, Michelle (David) Morawski, Jacob Schultz and great-grandchildren, Brett, Nathan, Aleksandra, Vincent, Audrey and Hendricks.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Lucille, Beatrice, Eugene, Richard, Albert, James, Myrtle, first husband, John L. Sheridan, second husband, George Buckley, daughter, Marilyn, son, John Jr and son, Joseph.

Evelyn, affectionately known as "Gram," was a devoted caretaker, tending to her family and to so very many others as a nursing home caregiver, housekeeper and patissier. She was a skilled cook and storyteller with rural Midwestern roots, who spent much of her adult life in and around Chicago. She shared her love of classic movies and her witty observations of daily life, uplifting the family and friends she cherished.

A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital - Evelyn Buckley Memorial Fund.
